TiN-Coated Working Surface
Inspection reading taken on the finished coated component.
Reported: approx. 60–61 HRCA European industrial customer ordered custom shredder cutter inserts manufactured to supplied specifications. The finished batch was checked for dimensions and hardness before packing.

The angled close-up shows the TiN-coated working surfaces, central mounting holes and cutter geometry of the finished batch.
Key dimensions were checked against the customer-supplied specifications before packing.
TiN was applied to the D2 cutter inserts as a wear-resistant surface treatment. Inspection records report approximately 56 HRC for the exposed D2 substrate and approximately 60–61 HRC on the finished TiN-coated working surface.
The coated-surface value is a Rockwell C reading on the finished component, not a measure of the TiN coating's intrinsic hardness. The substrate and test conditions may influence it; these readings are not presented as a controlled before-and-after comparison. Actual wear performance depends on the coating, substrate, application and operating conditions.
